LUNDU: An elderly woman pillion rider died after the motorcycle she was on collided with a car at Jalan Pueh-Telok Melano junction, on Tuesday (September 8).
The deceased was identified as Erim Su’ut, 81, while the rider of the motorcycle, Fauzan Unchong, 83, suffered serious injuries.
According to State Traffic Investigation and Enforcement chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu the 3.24pm incident occurred when the motorcycle suddenly exited the junction and colliding with the sedan car.
“The deceased was pronounced dead at the scene while the rider suffered serious injuries and was taken to Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) for further treatment.
“The driver was not injured,” he said.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of Road Transport Act 1987.
