BALINGIAN: Work on the project to upgrade the resource centre and the Dalat and Mukah District Council Office (MDDM) Balingian branch here will commence soon.
MDDM secretary Yong Ing Chu said the actual cost of the project would be made known at a meeting at the project site on March 25.
Balingian assemblyman Abdul Yakub Arbi said the project had already been approved on Feb 4 under the Chief Minister’s people’s project.
The contractor is Sanyar Resources Sdn Bhd and the project is expected to be completed before or on Aug 3, 2021.
“With the establishment of the new MDDM branch office and resource centre, the people of Balingian sub-district, especially those living in Kuala Balingian and surrounding areas, will benefit. They don’t have to go to Mukah town to deal with MDDM-related matters.
“In addition, all residents of the Balingian area will benefit from the resource centre,” he added.
