WTCKL group MD receives Global Muslim Business Excellence Award

KUALA LUMPUR: World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL) group managing director Datuk Seri Dr Irmohizam Ibrahim received the Global Muslim Business Excellence Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2022 Global Muslim Business Forum here yesterday.

Irmohizam is also the chairman of Conferences and Exhibitions and Member Advisory Council (MAC) of the World Trade Centres Association (WTCA).

WTCKL, in a statement today, said Irmohizam’s motivation to embrace technology and innovation has allowed WTCKL to expand further and accelerate growth in the business events and Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) industry, especially in promoting Muslim-friendly tourism elements within this industry, enabling the industry to regain its pre-pandemic momentum.

“WTCKL would like to extend our heartiest congratulations to Dr Irmohizam for this prestigious honour and recognition.

“This achievement will no doubt bring WTCKL to greater heights,” it said.

The Global Muslim Business Forum was jointly organised by the Sarawak government together with the KSI Strategic Institute for Asia Pacific, Global One and the Islamic Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture.

The theme of this year’s event was ‘The Rise of the Global Islamic Economy: Refocusing, Resetting and Recovering in the Post-Pandemic Era’.

This newly established Global Muslim Business Forum aims to build on the success of the World Muslim Leadership Forum and would focus on promoting strategic partnerships, dialogues and business collaboration to build back better for shared prosperity and sustainable development.

Along with Irmohizam, Bintulu Port Holdings Berhad group chief executive officer Datuk Mohamed Medan Abdullah as well as president and vice-chancellor of Open University Malaysia Prof Dr Ahmad Izanee Awang were also given the award. – BERNAMA
