LUNDU: The youth are encouraged to embrace technical and digital fields to support the state’s digital economy policy.

During the opening ceremony of the Hydrogen and Tech 3.0 Safari programme here on Saturday, Opar assemblyman Billy Sujang said that the Centre of Technical Excellence Sarawak (CENTEXS) has responded to the call of Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg to transform Sarawak through the digital economy with the Industrial Revolution era and is currently developing youth in the area.

According to him, the programme aimed to raise awareness about CENTEXS’ role in the advancement of technical and digital skills industries, and familiarise participants with other training programmes offered by the centre. It included briefings on training programmes, scholarship opportunities, and interactive sessions.

Additionally, the Community Technology Outreach Program (CTOP) provided participants with courses on various subjects, such as manufacturing, Basic Motorcycle Maintenance Course, Starbucks-style Beverage Making Course, and more.
