MIRI: The Civil Defence Force (APM) here successfully caught a two-metre-long python, tipping the scales at 100kg, found lurking behind a house in Lorong Harmoni 1C, Tudan on the eve of Chinese New Year.

The operation unfolded after APM received a distress call around 8.50 pm from a concerned homeowner, who encountered the massive reptile in his chicken coop.

A swift response by four APM members, equipped with specialised tool, ensured the python’s capture within a mere 10 minutes of their arrival at the scene.

The homeowner, a 24-year-old man, reported hearing unusual noises emanating from the coop. Upon checking, he was confronted by the imposing python.

The reptile was safely released back into its natural habitat.
