MIRI: Miri City Council (MCC) has received 148 vendor applications for Bazaar Ramadan 2024 since the application is opened to the public on February 8 until 22.
According to Miri mayor Adam Yii Siew Sang, MCC has designated two locations this year, which are located at Miri City Fan and New World Mart Lutong parking lot.
“The bazaars will be operated from March 12 until April 11 and the operation hours are from 3 pm to 8 pm,” he said during the council’s full meeting today.
Market, Traders and Hawker Unit also informed that all of the vendors for this year had a complete food handling certificate and they have undergone medical examinations before submission of the forms to the counter.
The vendors have also been briefed on the dos and don’ts for operating during Bazaar Ramadan on ‘balloting session’ which was carried out on February 27.
The Council and all standing committee members plan to have a distribution of ‘bubur lambuk’ during this coming Ramadan as it is a signature dish for the fasting month.
“It has become an annual activity to strengthen the harmony and unity among MCC and the Miri community,” he said.
