BAU: Sixteen contestants will compete for the Mr and Mrs Talent Tasik Biru today.
The contest is held in conjunction with the Tasik Biru Festival, and the contestants comprise nine males and seven females.
Organising chairperson Ator Nadeng said the contest aimed to showcase the Bau community’s talents.
“This event, hopefully, can make Bau as a tourist destination.
“The champion gets RM600, second place gets RM500 and RM400 goes to third place. They will also receive a trophy and a sash,” she said.
She added that the contestants would be showcasing their talents in singing, modern and traditional dance, and playing musical instruments.
They also stand a chance to win subsidiary titles — Best Costume, Mr Favourite and Mrs Favourite.
The three-day festival, which began yesterday, has many exciting activities such as Tasik Biru Watersports, Bau Boat Ride Tour, E-Sports Competition, government/private/NGO booth exhibition, Bau Mini Agrofest, and many more.
