160 top junior golfers showcase talent at UUMISM-Sportexcel-Superkit grand final

KUALA LUMPUR: The UUMISM-Sportexcel-Superkit Malaysia Junior Golf Circuit Grand Final 2023 attracted 160 junior golfers, regarded as the cream of the crop in the country.

Apart from Malaysia, top junior golfers from South Korea, Thailand, China and France also participated in the event held at the Ayer Keroh Golf and Country Club from Sept 30 to Oct 2.

The grand final which is a culmination of winners from four legs held at various venues throughout the country since the beginning of the year.

The grand final that featured 10 different age group categories saw young golfers from different age groups showcasing their talent, right from the age of six to 18.

UUMISM founder and the main sponsor of the UUMISM-Sportexcel Junior Golf Circuit, David Jerong said the participation and support from parents was simply amazing.

“The main objective of UUMISM is to provide a platform for junior golfers in the country and those from other countries to showcase their talent.

“The competition has become very competitive and has started to attract top junior golfers from other countries like South Korea, China, Thailand and France,” said Jerong who is a professional golfer from South Korea but has turned Malaysia as his home for almost 20 years now.

Apart from UUMISM, golf equipment manufacturer and distributor of Superkit golf equipment, a leading brand from the United States, also provided strong support for the grand final.

The chief executive officer of Superkit Sporting Goods Co. Limited Johnny Wang said the company was excited to be a part of the tournament.

“Our products are specifically designed for juniors and golfers from a very young age can use the Superkit golf equipment.

“The products are designed for various age groups as well as taking into consideration the weight and height and body mass of young golfers,” said Wang who arrived in Malaysia from China to witness the grand final.
