KOTA SAMARAHAN: Two drivers were recently given traffic summonses for cutting the queue on the road by using the motorcycle lane at the Entingan roundabout.

This incident occurred on Thursday (July 20) at around 7.10 am, and it gained attention after a 55-second dashcam video went viral on Facebook.

The video showed three vehicles – a Toyota HRV, a Perodua Viva, and a Mitsubishi Triton – using the motorcycle lane to overtake the line of cars waiting in the regular lane.

The Sarawak Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department received numerous negative comments from people who criticised the drivers for their inconsiderate behaviour.

The police were able to identify two of the drivers from the video and have asked them to cooperate with the investigation. Efforts to find the third driver are still ongoing.

Both drivers who were identified have been issued summonses for breaking Rule 6(1) of the Traffic Rules 166/59.
