KUCHING: About 200 Zumba enthusiasts yesterday took part in the 2017 “I Can See Clearly Now (ICSCN)” Zumba charity event organised by Magnum Loving Hand at CityONE Megamall here.
The zumba performance was held to raise funds for buying corrective spectacles for deserving students.
Kuching was the fourth and last destination for the team which had conducted the same activities in Sibu, Miri and Bintulu and raised more than RM20,000.
The Magnum Loving Hand Team worked closely with professional opticians to conduct eye screening tests at SK Kidurong II Bintulu, SJK Chung Hua (II) Bintulu, SK St Rita Sibu and SK Merbau Miri.
Meanwhile, in Sri Aman and Kuching, the team will be visiting SJK Chung Hua Simanggang, SJK Batu 7 Matang Kuching and SJK Chung Hua Batu 41/2 Kuching.
“We believe this campaign is both impactful and sustainable and with proper eye care, the schoolchildren can focus on learning and have a brighter future ahead of them.
“We are happy to see that the lCSCN Campaign has reached out to many schoolchildren and we are very proud of our employees and the amount of effort they have put in helping the children.

“We know that a good education foundation is important for future learning and it is essential to ensure that something as fundamental as having a good/corrected eye sight is made available to the child.
“lf the child cannot see clearly in the classrooms, he/she will lose interest in his studies and this will impact his academic performance. More so if he/she is tall, he/she will be asked to sit at the back of the class!
All these will then tantamount to wrongly labelling the child as a slow learner”, explained Head of Magnum Group CSR, Beh Swan Swan.
