KUCHING: The Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) programme is most essential for the future of the country as the world is becoming increasingly digital.
Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation (SDEC) chief executive officer, Sudarnoto Osman stressed this at the closing of a Digital Talents and Innovations Lab held today.
He said the lab is a crucial step in the effort to improve STEM programmes in Sarawak.
“Twenty-first century education goes beyond learning in classroom and co-curricular activities.
“It is also about developing skills that will allow students to think critically, solve problems creatively and communicate effectively,” he said.
He added that it is important to prepare students for a world where change is the norm and where they will need to adapt quickly.
The lab was organised by SDEC and delivered by OB Research Sdn Bhd (Owl & Badger) with the support of the Ministry of Education, Innovation and Talent Development.
Also present during the event was Minister for Education, Innovation and Talent Development Datuk Roland Sagah and Deputy Minister Datuk Frances Harden Hollis
