MUKAH: A total of 30 people attended a one-day workshop on weaving and making serahang here.
The workshop which included three participants from UiTM Mukah took place at one Catherine Anyup’s residence in Kampung Tellian Ulu, Wednesday (March 8).
It was held a week before the Kaul Kakan Serahang (March 11) is organised by the village committees of Kampung Tellian Ulu, Kampung Tellian Tengah and the Standing Committee of Kaul Asal (JKTeKA).
According to Kampung Tellian village chief Juana Lupieh, all participants had the opportunity to gain knowledge and skills in preparing woven materials and then in making serahang.
“On March 11, Kaul Kakan Serahang will be held at Tugek Kaul Kala Dana and the public is invited to join in to celebrate and learn about the Kaul Kakan Serahang ceremony before Kaul Mukah 2023 from April 26 to May 1.
