38 Riam residents aided with Perlindungan Tenang Voucher

MIRI: The Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Senadin Service Centre has successfully helped 38 Riam residents to apply and utilise Perlindungan Tenang Voucher (PTV), the vouchers to redeem for personal accident insurance policy.

The insurance policies were handed over by Senadin assemblyman Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin to the recipients at SUPP Riam Sub Branch.

Together with him are Cr.Kueh Chie Tiong, the sub branch chairman; secretary Cr Jeffery Phang of SUPP Senadin Branch and Kapitan Jee Kee Hiong.

The Perlindungan Tenang Voucher Programme is an initiative by the government of Malaysia to expand the social protection for the lower-income group.

The programme was launched in September 2021 and is offered to eligible Bantuan Prihatin Rakyat (BPR) recipients.

From 1 January last year,  RM75 voucher is allocated to eligible Bantuan Keluarga Malaysia (BKM) recipients to purchase new Perlindungan Tenang plan or renew their existing Perlindungan Tenang protection plan.

From July 15 that same year, eligible BKM recipients could redeem a RM75 voucher with a minimum payment of RM5 and enjoy the benefits of insurance protection or takaful protection that provides insurance coverage in the event of death, fire or any other unwanted incident.

This programme is open for eligible BKM recipients under household, single and senior citizen categories.
