KUCHING: In conjunction with Engine er ing We ek, Unimas Engineering Faculty organised a two-day ‘Kampung Life’ programme at Kampung Semadang, Jalan Puncak Borneo recently.

Forty-five students from various faculties of the varsity took part in the programme and had the chance to stay at Maasa Jungle Homestay in the village. During the programme, the participants were involved in various activities including community service, painting the suspension bridge near the village and cleaning the surrounding areas.

Various other activities were also held during the two-day programme, including telematches, zumba, and BBQ. Program director Mahathir Mohd Noor said before the trip to Kampung Semadang, those selected had been working very hard to raise funds for the trip.

“We conducted two charity activities – car washing at Unimas and IEM Fun Day whereby selected students for the programme helped traders at Medan Niaga Satok to sell their produces and goods, and the contributions from the traders were collected as funds.
