KUCHING: Forty-seven locations statewide have undergone disinfection by local authorities as of 8am this morning.
The State Disaster Management Committee in a statement said the locations comprise five in areas of Kuching North City Hall, Kota Samarahan Municipal Council (one), Serian District Council (three), Sibu Municipal Council (10), Miri City Council (21), and Lawas District Council (seven).
The disinfection tasks were focused on crowded locations to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
On inter-district travel applications, SDMC said a total of 1,941 applications had been received by 28 police district headquarters statewide, bringing the cumulative total to 95,725.
“Of the total, 87,319 applications were approved and 8,406 applications were rejected,” it said.
SDMC also stated that the surveillance team comprising 766 personnel had inspected 1,770 locations which included 239 supermarkets, restaurants (356), factories (17), banks (149), government offices (89), hawker centres (15), markets (107), places of worship (100), recreational area (37), construction sites (16), and others (645).
As of today, SDMC said a total of 23,115 notices of reopening of economic sectors were received by the authorities.
