47 participants join religious event

Al-Quran khatamal participants involve in the parade upon arrival at the Al-Muhsiniin mosque grounds.

SIBU: A total of 47 participants attended the Perdana Al-Quran Khatamal Ceremony which took place at Al-Muhsiniin mosque in Daro District, recently.

The ceremony was graced by the presence of Member of Parliament for Igan Ahmad Johnie Zawawi, Daro assemblyman Safiee Ahmad, who is also chairman of the Daro Malay Welfare Trust Board and Daro District Officer Bujang Rahman Sli.

Speaking when officiating at the event, Safiee said that the construction of this mosque was originally for religious ceremonies such as the khatam al-quran ceremony.

“With this kind of event, we hope that the facilities provided in this mosque can be fully utilised by the villagers.

“For that reason, I will always support good efforts like this to help our children here,” he said.

During the ceremony, a parade was also held with the attendance of the participants around the village and Daro bazaar.

The procession involved three lorries and various other colourfully decorated vehicles.

The parade was also assisted by the Daro police traffic team with patrol cars as well as RELA members.

The arrival of the group of participants was warmly welcomed by the guests of honour in front of the grounds of the Al-Muhsiniin mosque.
