KUCHING: A group of 50 former students of Green Road Secondary School here gathered for a reunion dinner recently.

They were the Form 5 students of the school in 1969 and are now living in different places here and abroad.

Four of their fellow classmates—Kho Mei Lee, Chen Sze Chuan, Ho Ah Yean and Sim Poy Ting—took almost a year to organise the dinner.

Many of them flew in from aboard for the purpose and to take the opportunity to see their lovely and most respected classmate Kho Mei Lee, who is said to be unwell.

Education Service Commission (ESC) chairman Tan Sri Dr Haili Dolhan, Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) chairman Datuk Seri Azman Ujang, former teachers Chiou Huey Ping, Sim Eng Hiang and Tan Lee Hua were among those who turned up.

Many are now doctors, engineers, lawyers, educationists, teachers, pensioners and businessmen.

Some working and living abroad could not make it to the dinner, among them, Kuek Sze Meng, an engineer who currently works and resides in the UK.
