BAU: A total of 58 organisations received Minor Rural Project (MRP) grants amounting to RM995,948.59 at the Tasik Biru Service Centre here on Sunday.
According to a news report by the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS) on Monday (Feb 13) they comprised schools, Village Security and Development Committees (JKKK) and religious bodies.
The first batch of the MRP grants for 2023 was presented by Transport Deputy Minister Datuk Henry Harry Jinep who is also Tasik Biru Assemblyman.
He noted that the recipients were from Bau except for JKKK Kampung Selampit 1 and JKKK Kampung Selampit 2 from Lundu.
“The allocation is to support the their annual programmes including the upgrading of the Kampung Sudoh council by JKKK Kampung Sudoh.
“It also includes educational incentives for outstanding students received by the Greater BiGiang Committee and Kampung Suba Bau Education Bureau,” he said.
The beneficiaries involved are Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Bau, SMK Paku, SMK Singai, Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Apar, SK Atas, SK Bau, SK Bobak Sajong/Sejinjang, SK Buso, SK Grogo, SK Jagoi, SK Sebobok, SK Segong, SK Serabak, SK Serasot, SK Senibung, SK Skibang, SK Stass, SK Suba Buan, SK St. John, SK St. Stephen, SK Gumbang, SK Opar, SK Pedaun Bawah, SK Podam, SK Puak, SK Segubang, SK Serembu, SK Simpang Kuda, SK Siniawan, SK Sungai Pinang, SK Tembawang, SK Tringus, SK St. Patrick and SK St. Teresa.
Also receiving the aid were Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (SJK) Chung Hua in Bau, Buso, Musi, Sebuku, Taiton, Tondong, Kranji, Paku, and Siniawan.
The grant was also presented to St. Martin Segong Church; Barieng Village Women’s Bureau; Stenggang Village Women’s Bureau; Suba Buan Village Youth Bureau and Serikin Village Youth Bureau.
Other beneficiaries are JKKK Kampung Suba Buan, Kampung Suba Bau, Kampung Suba Bandar, Kampung Badul, and JKKK in the Buso area.
