KUCHING: Some 700 people from 54 schools in the Simunjan district attended a Teacher’s Day 2018 Celebration for Simunjan District at Penview Convention Centre Demak here on Saturday. Simunjan Assemblyman Alwa Idris in his speech said the theme for the this year’s Teacher’s Day ‘Teachers Are Educational Transformation Drivers’ means that teachers are in the forefront of playing a key role in implementing the transformation of national education.

“Teachers are also agents of change capable of bringing national education to a more brilliant and respectable level in the eyes of the world. “The selection of this year’s Teacher’s Day theme is in line with current developments in the world of education,” Alwa said.

He added that for our country in particular, the teachers’ role is a key factor in determining the success of the Malaysia Education Blueprint (PPPM) 2013-2025. Also present were Director of State Education Department, Rakayah Madon and Simunjan District Education Officer, Samsul Alam.
