KUCHING: Sarawak will send 810 athletes to the 20th Malaysia Games (SUKMA) 2022.
In revealing this, Minister of Youth, Sports, and Entrepreneur Development Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah said the preparations for SUKMA 2022 have been going smoothly as planned and targets that have been set.
“Among the sports development programmes that have been implemented to prepare the athletes for SUKMA include the Sarawak Warrior Camp which took place from June 23 to 29 and another Majlis Sukan Negeri (MSN) SUKMA XX Contingent Camp which will be conducted from Sept 12 to 15.
“I am confident with the intensive training preparation and excellent performance of our athletes during the last Southeast Asian Games (SEA) will be able to put Sarawak in a good position in SUKMA 2022 which will be held on Sept 16 to 24 this year,” he said at the ministry’s Raya Gawai 2022 celebration gathering on Wednesday night.
