KUCHING: Indonesians are not allowed entry into Sarawak for the time being until further notice.

The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), in a statement on Friday also said Sarawakians returning from Indonesia would have to undergo compulsory 14-day quarantine at designated quarantine centres, and the Covid-19 screen tests would be taken on the tenth day.

“Sarawakians returning from overseas (apart from Indonesia), must go for the Covid-19 screening three days before departure,” SDMC said.

Upon arriving in Sarawak, they would be required to undergo home quarantine and have the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test taken on the tenth day.

“For those living in the interior, they will be quarantined at the designated quarantine centre and will be screened (PCR) for Covid-19 on the tenth day,” the secretariat added.

Meanwhile, SDMC said police had successfully caught the two Indonesian citizens who escaped from the Ministry of Health (MoH) personnel after they were tested positive for the virus.
