SEMATAN: The people of Telok Melano and Sematan welcome the construction of a new mosque and Anjung Usahawan (entrepreneurs platform).
Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg yesterday officiated at the groundbreaking ceremony of the projects at Telok Melano, a seaside village about 30 minutes’ drive from here.
The chief minister was accompanied by Tanjung Datu assemblywoman Datuk Amar Jamilah Anu, Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian, Assistant Minister of International Trade and Industry, Industrial Terminal and Entrepreneur Development Datuk Mohd Naroden Majais, State Secretary Datuk Jaul Samion and Sarawak Islamic Council (MIS) president Datuk Misnu Taha.

‘The projects will enable the villagers to generate more incomes.
‘The entrepreneurs platform will benefit the traders here. Previously, the hawkers and traders sold their products under canopies.’
