KUCHING: Kuching North City Commission (DBKU) is always open-minded to suggestions from members of the community in all matters, assured Assistant Minister in the Chief Minister’s Department (Islamic Affairs and DBKU) Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi.

“However, the decision is up to DBKU’s management and administration. It is hoped that those who bring forth their suggestions agree with the decision made by DBKU,” he said during a press conference at the DBKU City Library here today.

He explained that DBKU took the approach of using just one language –  Bahasa Malaysia, for road signs in its jurisdiction.

He said that it was better if one language was used for road signs to represent all ethnicities, adding that Bahasa Malaysia was accepted and understood by all levels of the community.
