MIRI: Telang Usan assemblyman Dennis Ngau on Saturday reminded the Kayan community here to discard “crab mentality” in order to be successful.

“Do not undermine others, but instead help one another in order to be a successful community,” he pointed out.

He said, undermining others will hinder the Kayan community from progress and prosperity in the future.

“It’s like the crabs when they get trapped in a basket, they tend to pull the others who are trying to get out; and this mentality should be discarded within our community,” he stressed.

Dennis was speaking at the opening of the Doh Kayan (Kayan Women’s Association) Telang Usan or DKTU second Triennial general meeting on Saturday at a leading hotel here.

He later performed a soft launching of DKTU’s EcoMart.

The DKTU Ecomart is a shop selling local products by the Kayan women in this region, including food items. The shop is located within the Miri Times Square.
