School board seeks additional funds

KUCHING: SJK Chung Hua Siburan Management Board has appealed to the Sarawak government for additional funds to upgrade the school facilities.

On Thursday (Sept 3), Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg received a courtesy call from the school’s management board members led by its chairman Phang Nam Fatt at Wisma Bapa Malaysia.

During the courtesy call, Phang submitted the allocation application to Abang Johari. 

The 50-year-old primary school, located about 27 kms  from Kuching, needs additional funds to cover the upgrading cost of RM2.26 million.

The upgrading of the school includes the  construction of several sports  facilities such as a football field, running track as well as a parking lot.

The funds, previously obtained from public contributions as well as contributions from the Sarawak government, amounted to RM500,000.

Among those present were Assistant Transport Minister Datuk Dr Jerip Susil and SJK Chung Hua Siburan Management Board deputy chairman Chung Chon Shin.
