KUCHING: Blind massage and reflexology centres will be allowed to operate starting Dec 21.
The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said they are allowed to operate as long as they comply with the conditions set.
Each premises must apply for written approval from the Social Welfare Department in their respective divisions before operating and submit a copy to the local authority on where the premises is operating.
“The Social Welfare Department needs to inspect the premises to ensure that they comply with the guidelines set.
“Operators and employees are required to undergo testing before being allowed to work and test results must be negative and not more than three days before operation. A list of employees who have undergone this test should be displayed.
“Detailed guidelines can be found from the official website of the Sarawak Social Welfare Department,” the committee said.
Touching on Christmas, SDMC noted that celebration is only allowed on the first day with an attendance capacity of 20 people at a time and is limited to immediate family members only.

Meanwhile, police have issued four compounds to errant individuals for failing to comply with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) in public places, namely two in Kuching and one each in Sarikei and Betong.
SDMC noted that the Ministry of Local Government also issued 119 verbal, written, and seizure warnings in areas under the supervision of various local councils.
Under Ops Benteng, 1,229 vehicles were inspected through seven roadblocks in six districts; two of the roadblocks were in Lawas and one each in Lundu, Bau, Serian, Sri Aman and Lubok Antu.
