KUCHING: Asajaya assemblyman Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah has lauded the Association of Wives of Ministers and Assistant Ministers (Sabati) for its contribution to the needy.

Sabati recently donated a refrigerator, stand fans, hot water dispensers, pillows, sports attire and towels to Community-based Children Rehabilitation Centre (PDK) Asajaya Harmoni.

PDK Asajaya Harmoni is located at Kampung Sambir, Asajaya and it is one of the beneficiaries of Sabati’s community-related projects.

Abdul Karim expressed his hopes for the association to continue with its efforts to help the underprivileged in the community including children with special needs.

“Sabati has been providing donations and assistance to our community since its inception 38 years ago. Its efforts had lessened the burden of those who are in need of help.

“I hope that Sabati will continue to help our community members regardless of their race and religion,” he said.

Present at the simple handover ceremony was Kota Samarahan MP Rubiah Wang and Datin Zuraini Abdul Jaabar, who represented the association.

Zuraini assured that Sabati will continue to render such assistance for many years to come.

“We hope that the donated items will lessen the burden of the centre’s management in running the facility for children with special needs,” she said.

Meanwhile, Sabariah Hamid, a representative from PDK Asajaya Harmoni who received the donation on behalf of the centre, thanked Sabati for its continuous support.

“This facility was set up to provide opportunities for the children to gain exposure to the public and socialise with their peers in a safe environment,” she said.
