Five deaths bring Covid-19 toll to 378

KUCHING: Sarawak recorded five deaths related to Covid-19 infection on Saturday (June 19), taking the state’s toll to 378.

The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said the 374th death was a 46-year-old woman from Sibu District, who passed away at Sibu Hospital. She tested positive for Covid-19 on June 17 and she had comorbidities of high blood pressure, diabetes, dyslipidaemia and obesity.

The 375th death was also a woman aged 80 years from Sibu District, who passed away at Sibu Hospital. She was confirmed as Covid-19 positive on May 23.

The case had comorbidities of high blood pressure, diabetes, chronic kidney disease, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

Meanwhile, the 376th death was a 55-year-old woman from Kanowit District who passed away at the Sibu Hospital. She was tested Covid-19 positive on June 10.  

On the 377th death, SDMC said it involved an 84-year-old man from Kuching who passed away at Sarawak General Hospital (SGH). He was confirmed as Covid-19 positive on June 18.

The case had high blood pressure and diabetes, and was linked to the Iris Garden Cluster.

The 378th death was an 87-year-old man from Kuching who passed away at SGH. He was also linked to the Iris Garden Cluster.
