BAU: The narcotics police here arrested a man for possessing drugs at KM18, Jalan Bau-Siniawan this morning (Aug 6).
District police chief DSP Poge Nyaon, who confirmed the case, said a police team detained the 22-year-old suspect who was acting suspiciously at the scene around 11.45am.
“A plastic packet containing crystalline lumps believed to be methamphetamine was found inside the suspect’s bag.
“The suspect and the drugs weighing at 0.30g were taken to the police station for further questioning,” he said.
Background checks found that the suspect did not have any past record, but he tested positive for drugs.
He will be remanded to facilitate investigations under Section 12(2) and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
