KOTA SAMARAHAN: A food delivery rider died after his motorcycle collided with a car at KM9, Jalan Datuk Mohd Musa on Monday (Nov 1).

Sarawak Traffic Police chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu said the incident happened at 5.20pm when the victim, identified as Mohamad Khairil Mahidi, 25, was travelling towards Kota Samarahan.

Investigations found that the victim had crashed into the side of the car, which had just came out from the junction of a hardware store.

“Due to the impact, Mohamad Khairil, from Kampung Tanjung Bundong, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

“His body was taken to Sarawak General Hospital for further action,” he said

The case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

Meanwhile, Kota Samarahan MP Rubiah Wang, who was alerted to the incident, extended her deepest condolences to the family of Mohamad Khairil. He left behind his wife and a 10-month-old daughter.
