KUCHING: Samalaju Industrial Port Sdn Bhd (SIPSB) has taken another step forward by holding a second logistics forum with investors in Samalaju Industrial Park (SIP).

“For better performance of the port, both parties are working together to improve the port’s and overall logistics supply chain performance,” said its group CEO Datuk Mohammad Medan in his welcoming remarks during the forum held on Tuesday (April 19).

“As an important port in Sarawak, particularly in SIP, we recognise our role to serve your trade and as the port operator, we acknowledge the importance of linking the many elements in the overall supply chain.”

He added that the 2nd Logistics Forum Meeting, attended by four major SIP investors, was held to discuss and to follow up on initiatives to enhance overall operational performance following the first meeting held in January last year.

“With the recovery of the global trade and the ramping up of the plant production by SIP investors, we can see positive growth in terms of the cargo throughout for the first quarter of 2022 and envisage an increase by double digit growth in 2022 from last year’s performance.”
