SERIAN: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Tebedu Branch committee members are urged to work as a team to ensure the party remains relevant.

The party’s secretary-general Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi said their unity would ensure that development planned for the area could be achieved to provide only the best for the people.

“The process of politics is important to ensure the development and well-being of the communities, societies and the country are well-taken care of,” he said when officiating at the PBB Tebedu Branch triennial general meeting held at Dewan Tayung Langui, Kampung Pichin, yesterday.

Nanta said that PBB has a long history and was still upholding its agenda to this day.

“We do not want to follow the pattern of political parties in West Malaysia.

“Party members also should know that nobody is above the party,” he advised.

He also urged members to take care of the party to ensure that PBB remained relevant for continuous development and progress of the people.

Speaking at the same event, senior vice president of PBB Datuk Amar Michael Manyin Jawong advised party members to stay loyal to the party which has long existed and is the backbone of the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS)-led government.

“All members must not only stay loyal during TGM where we say our pledge to the party and promised to help our leader but acted the opposite once election comes around and vote for the opposition.

“These are traitors”, he stressed.

Manyin also said that the majority of Sarawakians had accepted and supported GPS, as proven during the recent 12th state election where GPS secured a big majority.

He elaborated on the importance of politics and education for the advancement of the community.

Also present were Tebedu assemblyman Dr Simon Sinang Bada, Bukit Semuja assemblyman John Ilus and a political secretary to Sarawak Premier John Nyigor.
