KOTA Samarahan CID officers raid a bistro in the wee hours.

KOTA SAMARAHAN: Four locals including a bistro owner were arrested by police after the premises at Central City, Kuching-Samarahan Expressway, was found to be operating without an entertainment licence.

Kota Samarahan district police chief DSP Sudirman Kram said the raid was carried out by the district’s Criminal Investigation Division (CID) around 2am yesterday.

“As soon as the team arrived, they heard music playing loudly and several patrons were entertaining themselves inside the premises.

“Inspections found that the bistro did not have any valid entertainment licence from the Kota Samarahan Municipal Council to carry out entertainment activities at the premises,” he said.

Due to the offence, the premises owner and three employees were detained to facilitate investigations and some entertainment equipment were confiscated.

Both the arrested suspects and seizures were taken to Kota Samarahan police station for further action, Sudirman added.

“An investigation paper has been opened under Section 5 (1) of the Entertainment Ordinance 2000.
