KUCHING: Pakatan Harapan (PH) is most likely to lose in the Tanjung Piai by-election which will be held on Nov 16.

Political analyst Datuk Peter Minos said the voters are already showing that they are not happy with PH’s broken promises and inept administration.

“The Malay voters are saying that Democratic Action Party (DAP) is playing very rough and haughty politics on them.

“While the Chinese voters there are particularly displeased with DAP playing the fool with Chinese education issues and kowtowing too much to Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad at the expense of the Chinese interests,” he added.

He said that in Sarawak, DAP acts and behaves very negatively.

“All they ever do is find faults with others, say very bad and negative things of others’ initiatives and efforts. But they themselves are doing absolutely nothing even though in power at the federal level,” he pointed out.

He said naturally people, voters especially, get angry and are disappointed if the federal government keeps on boasting and making empty promises.

“People do not like or trust political parties and politicians who lie openly. Lying kills trust, and when the trust is gone it is downhill for the lying party,” he stressed.

He said DAP playing diversion politics and making excuses will never work.

“People are not fools because they are aware of things. They can see and compare who is better.

“When people see and realise that their lives are getting worse and worse by the day, they get agitated and start questioning,” he said.

Minos stressed that come election, the people will use their votes to release their unhappiness.

“This is what is happening at Tanjung Piai by-election. I believe this sentiment will carry on until the next Sarawak state election which is expected to be held in 2023,” he said.
