MUKAH: Religious and ethnic differences do not deter the residents of Mukah from celebrating Christmas together.

According to Penghulu Henry Lee Liong Ing, he and others made a Christmas visit to the home of Tellian assemblyman Royston Valentine recently.

“This is to strengthen the bonds of friendship among each other during the celebration.

“This Christmas visit was also attended by several Kapitan and other leaders from various ethnicities and religions,” he  said.

“With this diversity, we can learn about the cultures of other ethnicities and religions, especially during festive occasions.”

He added that the spirit of mutual respect and compromise should be present in everyone.

Also present were  Jepak assemblyman Iskandar Turkee, his  wife and Temenggong Hendi Suhai.
