Julaihi congratulates Abang Johari on his fifth anniversary as chief minister.

KUCHING: In his five years as chief minister, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg has introduced many people-centric initiatives aimed at enhancing the people’s quality of life and easing their burdens.

Utility and Telecommunication Minister Datuk Julaihi Narawi said these initiatives included providing treated water and electricity supplies as well as roads in rural areas.

“Apart from accelerating development in the rural areas, Abang Johari has also fought for the rights and interests of the state as enshrined in the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) and the Federal Constitution and strengthened the state’s economic and financial position,” he said in a Facebook post on Thursday (Jan 13) in conjunction with Abang Johari’s fifth anniversary as chief minister.

The Sebuyau assemblyman pointed out that through his own leadership model with the strong support of leaders from parties under Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS), Abang Johari had shown determination and courage to create a benchmark of work culture and service which would bring Sarawak to a level expected by the people.

“A clear testimonial by the people towards his leadership,” he applauded.
