SIBU: As part of efforts to control the spread of the Covid-19 here, the Sibu Divisional Disaster Management Committee (DDMC) will carry out active case detection (ACD) in several zones under the administration of Sibu Municipal Council (SMC).
The committee said in a statement today that the zones are Tong Sang, Bahagia Jaya, Permai, Jeriah, Rejang Park, Ulu Sungai Merah and Taman Indah.
A spokesperson of the committee said the ACD will be held from Apr 29 to May 3.
On Apr 30, the ACD in Bahagia Jaya Zone will be carried out at Teku Community Hall from 8am to 5pm covering residents of Jalan Teku, Jalan Trusan, Jalan Rantau Panjang, and Jalan Hock Huo.
The Permai and Jeriah zone ACD will be held on May 1 at Taman Tasik Permai from 8am to 5pm.
The same spokesman said the ACD for Rejang Park Zone will be on May 2 at Traffic Garden (near Taman Rejang Community Clinic) from 8am to 5pm.
After that, the ACD will be carried out in Ulu Sungai Merah Zone and Taman Indah Zone on May 3 at Swan Square/Wonderful from 8am to 5pm.
“We request the cooperation of all residents in the eight zones to give cooperation to go for Covid-19 screening on the set dates, times and venues.
Sibu DDMC also reminded the residents to bring their identity cards, practise social distancing, wear face masks, and give the committee the phone number required for making contact.
