SARIKEI: Positioned as a potential agricultural hub in Sarawak’s central region, Sarikei is set to leverage modern technology to enhance its agricultural productivity.
Sarikei Division Resident Michael Ronnie Langgong emphasised the significant role of modern agricultural practices in increasing the output of agricultural products.
“It can be done if we maximise the use of agricultural materials such as fertilisers and reduce labour costs.
“With this initiative, it positions Sarikei as a testing ground for innovative ideas tailored to the specific needs of our local farmers,” he said when officiating at the Sarikei Agricultural Technology Demonstration at the Innovation Centre (SIC) here on Thursday.
The technology demonstration, part of the event, aimed to familiarise Sarikei’s farmers with the latest agricultural technologies.
