Allowance for journalists’ health check-ups

MIRI: Members of the Northern Sarawak Journalists Association (NSJA) are eligible to claim an allowance for their health check-ups.

According to the its president Chai Chon Chin, each member can request reimbursement of up to RM200 for their annual check-up, which can be claimed once a year.

To redeem the allowance, members need to provide an official receipt or invoice dated between January 1 and December 31 of this year, along with a copy of the health examination report from any laboratory or medical centre where the check-up was conducted.

“If the check-up cost exceeds RM200, members will need to cover the remaining amount themselves,” said Chai in a press statement today (June 16).

These documents can be submitted via mail or WhatsApp to the following individuals: Chai at 019-8447447, treasurer Andy Jong Wan Joon at 014-5902562, vice president Rosemaria Buma at 016-8718793, or vice treasurer Arles Huong Ung Key at 019-8857258.

Transport Minister Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin recently donated RM10,000 to NSJA specifically for this purpose. Chai thanked Lee for his continuous support of this welfare programme since its inception in 2018.
