SEBAUH: A 16-foot-long reticulated python was captured after it was spotted inside a cat cage in Kampung Hilir Sebauh on Sunday (Feb 11).

The owner noticed it coiled up in the cage after purportedly swallowing a cat.

The Civil Defence Force (APM) Sebauh was alerted and a team dispatched to the scene captured it before releasing it into its natural habitat, away from the villages.

Meanwhile in Kapit, a family had to alert the APM to their house in Kampung Muhibbah Bleteh today (Feb 12) after they noticed a monitor lizard in the store room next to their house.

A four-man team was deployed to the scene and they searched for the reptile in the store room.

The monitor lizard, about the size of an adult’s thigh, was captured using a tong and was released into its original habitat, away from the villages.
