Bandar Kuching MP presents awards to 170 students

KUCHING: A total of 170 students received the 2022 Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) Awards from Bandar Kuching Parliamentary constituency office here, yesterday.

Bandar Kuching MP, Dr Kelvin Yii said this year was the second year that his office provided the SPM Awards as an encouragement.

“Congratulations to 170 students for receiving the 2022 SPM Awards from my office. My best wishes to them for a bright future and a higher level,” he said in a statement posted on his Facebook page.

He said that since the launch of the programme, the response had been overwhelming.

“This year, my office has received more than 180 applicants. After review, a total of 170 applicants met the conditions and successfully received the awards,” he told.

He also said that during the ceremony, he shared the importance of building good values and character as the foundation to succeed in the future.

“We may score well in our exams, but what will make you successful is good character and attitude.

“I strongly believe in young people, and I believe they can also be the leaders of today. In order to do that, I challenge them to be the best version of themselves, build values, dream big, dig deep, and last long,” he said.
