KUCHING: State Reform Party (STAR) president Lina Soo supports Education, Science and Technological Research Minister Datuk Seri Michael Manyin’s statement on allowing primary school teachers to use ‘local English’ in teaching Mathematics and Science next year.

“I have to reluctantly agree that if we cannot start with perfection, we still must start no matter what. It is still better to start with imperfection than not start at all,” she said when contacted by New Sarawak Tribune yesterday.

“We will resolve the flaws and problems as we understake our new journey to create an English-literate society to catch up with Science and Information Technology.

“So let’s just do it! Rather than wait for perfection which will never come if we are doing nothing at all,” she added, pointing out every new initiative always had its teething problems.
