BINTULU: The recently completed Bintulu-Nyabau interchange is expected to be opened for motorists before the Chinese New Year celebration.

Public Works Department (PWD) Northern Zone manager Ir Siaw Ming Chian, in a brief statement yesterday (Jan 14), said that the interchange would be opened soon.

“Hopefully the interchange can be used by motorists before Chinese New Year. Currently, some testing still needed to be done such as the street lights on it.

“We still have remaining works to be done like adding the traffic signboards, safety devices and other features,” he said.

He mentioned that once the remaining works had been completed, a road safety audit needed to be carried out.

“We hope that it can be done before the Chinese New Year celebration for the convenience of the public and road users,” he said.
