BorneoTalk makes presence felt at Berlin tourism trade fair

BERLIN: Sarawak’s homegrown tourism magazine BorneoTalk is going places. Its latest edition was made available at ITB Berlin in celebration of its partnership with the German tourism trade fair as its official international media partner.

BorneoTalk represented Sarawak as the state’s official media at the world’s leading travel trade show from Mar 7-9.

The publication’s chief commercial officer Ashley Pan presented the magazine to ITB Berlin’s marketing and brand manager Teresa Baumgarten and marketing and product manager Felicia Dominguez Stein.

Minister of Tourism, Creative and Performing Arts Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah was present in Berlin to witness the presentation ceremony.

The latest issue of the BorneoTalk magazine was presented in a specially curated gift package featuring exquisite hand-made Sarawak products under the Stirring Up Borneo (SUB) social enterprise brand.

ITB Berlin is the cradle, innovation driver, and leading platform of the tourism industry, and every year, it brings together the game changers in the travel industry.

It is also the largest service trade show for the travel industry which covers over 180 countries and territories, making it the most diverse and comprehensive event of its kind.

Also present to witness the presentation of the magazine were Deputy Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew; Karim’s wife, Datin Seri Zuraini Abdul Jabbar; permanent secretary to the ministry Datuk Sherrina Hussaini; and chief executive officer of Sarawak Tourism Board Sharzede Salleh Askor.
