KUCHING: Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (BERSATU) Sarawak has expressed the party’s disappointment over the action of Puncak Borneo MP Datuk Willie Mongin for joining Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB).

Jaziri Alkaf

Its chief, Senator Jaziri Alkaf Abdillah Suffian said the disappointment arose when Willie decided to exit from BERSATU just when the general election was around the corner.

“Now that his application was approved to join PBB, his membership in the BERSATU has been automatically terminated according to the party’s Clause 10, Article 10.2.3,” he said in a statement today.

He added that the matter itself was conveyed by BERSATU president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

“It is hoped that his decision to join PBB is not for personal gain,” he said.

Jaziri added that at the same time, BERSATU Sarawak supports the follow-up action by the party leadership on his Deputy Minister of Plantation Industry and Commodities position belonging to the party that Willie currently fills.

“We in BERSATU Sarawak always practice service politics (politik khidmat) as the core of our struggle and put Sarawak first by providing the best service for Sarawakians,” he said.
