British minister on official visit to Kuching

Trevelyan arrives in Kuching for a two-day official visit.

KUCHING: Minister of State for the Indo-Pacific at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office of the United Kingdom (UK), Anne-Marie Trevelyan paid an official visit here from Sept 7 to 8.

The purpose of her visit is to hold a discussion session on climate cooperation, regional security and trade.

Trevelyan is scheduled to hold a meeting with the Sarawak Energy Group chief executive officer Datuk Sharbini Suhaili today to discuss a number of matters including the green energy centre, the hydrogen production plant and visit the refuelling site for hydrogen-powered bus.

In the meantime, she is also scheduled to visit the Borneo Cultural Museum and the Semenggoh Wildlife Conservation Centre on the same day.

Later in the afternoon, she will hold a meeting with Deputy Minister of Energy and Environmental Sustainability Dr Hazland Abang Hipni at Baitul Makmur here before departing for Kuala Lumpur at 6.45 pm.
