Bruneian fined for drug offence

SIBU: A Bruneian was fined RM4,000, in default three months’ jail by the Sessions Court on Monday for having drugs.

Jonathan Nanta pleaded guilty to committing the offence for which the law provides for a fine of up to RM300,000 or imprisonment of up to one year or both.

ccording to the charge sheet, he was found in possession of drugs weighing 0.12 gram at a house in Kampung Maling, Sungai Aup at about noon on Jan 18.

The court heard that a team of police from the Narcotics Crime Investigation Department arrested him for suspected drug use.

Checks found four transparent plastic packages containing suspected drugs including methamphetamine, ketamine and ecstacy.
