Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier’s Office (Corporate Affairs, Information and Sarawak Public Communications Unit) Datuk Abdullah Saidol.

KUCHING: The selection of Cabinet ministers must not only take the consideration of meeting the quota of the party that supports the unity government.

Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier’s Office (Corporate Affairs, Information and Sarawak Public Communications Unit) Datuk Abdullah Saidol said he is sure all Malaysians want a government that is able to govern and manage the country transparently.

“This includes with leader and ministers with integrity and efficiency, especially in economic recovery and welfare of the people.

“I hope the Cabinet line-up is formed with those who are really of calibre and who can efficiently manage the ministry by applying the best management culture and the introduction of constructive policies for the development of the country,” he said.

He said this in a press statement when asked on his views on the Cabinet line-up expectation yesterday.

He also said that the selection of Cabinet ministers does not have to be just to meet the quota of the party that supports it.

“The welfare of the people and the dignity of the country should be prioritised and not the interests of individual positions,” he pointed out.
