MIRI: The local community should support the Department of National Unity and National Integration (JPNIN) to mobilise the unity agenda.
Pujut assemblyman Adam Yii Siew Sang said that JPNIN played an important role in spreading policies to strengthen the spirit of unity among multi-racial and religious communities.
“I call on everyone present to give support to JPNIN because they are the backbone to spread policies related to the unity agenda,” he said in Program Gerak Rahmah 2023 Jom Masak Bubur Lambuk for Miri division level at Dewan Perpaduan, Piasau 1, here, recently.
Besides that, he who is also the Miri mayor welcomed the organisation of the programme which was held simultaneously throughout the country as a platform to uplift the spirit of unity and re-strengthen the practice of mutual cooperation among the community.
“A gotong-royong programme like this not only strengthens friendships among the residents of the Rukun Tetangga (KRT) but can also develop an attitude of helping each other and working together as a team.
“We can then put these values into practice in our daily tasks,” he added.
At the programme, Miri district KRT members worked together to produce two pots of bubur lambuk and also two pots of bubur pedas to be distributed to the local community.
