Call to support programmes that improve govt services

KUCHING: Civil servants under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Urban Development (MUDNeR) have been urged to continue supporting innovative and creative programmes aimed at enhancing services to the people.

Its Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hassan said these programmes helped resolve the problems faces when delivering government services.

The outcome of this innovation initiatives will enable a data-driven, innovative Sarawakian community that will flourish in 2030, bringing with it economic prosperity, social inclusiveness, and environmental sustainability eco-friendly surroundings, he said.

Awang Tengah’s text of speech was read by MUDNeR permanent secretary Datuk Seri Zaidi Mahdi during the closing ceremony of the Konvensyen Kumpulan Innovatif Dan Kreatif (KIK) programme at Imperial Hotel on Thursday (Aug 18).

The minister said the KIK programmes’ goal is to motivate government departments and agencies to develop and improve their services.

“Among the objectives are cultivating innovation and creativity, promotion of the production of innovative and creative ideas, problem-solving by employees and improving agency efficiency and effectiveness.

“As a result, the state government’s recommendation that all its ministries implement the KIK convention among the departments and agencies under their respective supervision is a wise move that strives to increase performance and the efficiency and effectiveness of delivering government services,” he said.
